BBL Schedule 2021-2022: The Big Bash League (popularly known as KFC Big Bash League or BBL) is the most popular men’s Twenty20 cricket league of Australia. The upcoming season of the BBL 2021-22 will be the 11th season. It kickstarts from December 5th, 2021. To know the BBL schedule 2021-22, read further.
As usual, there will be 8 teams based on the Australian cities who will play against each other in a total of 61 matches. The first 19 games of BBL are scheduled to be played before Christmas, while the rest 28 matches will be played after Christmas including eight double-headers. A total of 14 venues have been booked for the smooth conduct of the tournament. Cricket Australia confirmed the KFC BBL schedule of the tournament on 14 July 2021. Read further to know the BBL match schedule 2021.
KFC is the title sponsor of BBL. Other sponsors include Weet-Bit, Toyota, Wrigley Extra, Dream 11, Nike, etc. BBL 2021 live streaming will be done by Sony Six and Sony Six HD in India and its subcontinent. FOX SPORTS has gained the right to broadcast the tournament online in Australia.
Out of the eight teams participating in the BBL, six have won the title at least once. Sydney Sixers consecutively won the title two times in a row for the last two seasons. BBL 11 clashes with the Australia-English Test series which can lead to the test cricket players missing ut on the tournament.
Last year the whole tournament was conducted in a bio-bubble to ensure the safety of the cricketers. The Big Bash League of 2021-22 will also be conducted under strict protocols taking into consideration the COVID-19 pandemic situation. Although this season will return to being on a full home-and-away schedule.
No Indian player is featured in the Big Bash League. But it has a separate fan base in India and is quite popular amongst Indian cricket fans.
